About

Hey, I’m Satyam.

Like a pendulum, my life moves between two cultures — India and France.

I was born and raised near Agra, in northern India, and have been living in France since 2013. What first brought me here was a desire to learn, to explore French art and culture, and to pursue my Master’s degree at Grenoble Ecole de Management. What I didn’t expect was how deeply this journey would reconnect me to my Indian roots.

Living between these two worlds has shaped the way I see, feel, and photograph.

In my early days in France, language was a challenge. I didn’t speak French, yet I was not unfamiliar with linguistic diversity — growing up in India, where 22 official languages coexist, had already taught me how to navigate cultural and linguistic differences. Over the years, as I learned French and immersed myself in the culture, I discovered that observation became my strongest language. Photography became my way of understanding people, places, and emotions beyond words.

Today, I live and work in Paris, carrying with me a unique visual sensibility influenced by both Indian warmth and French aesthetic subtlety.

My photography is driven by curiosity, human connection, and a deep appreciation for everyday beauty. I am drawn to authentic moments, natural light, and stories that unfold quietly. Whether I am photographing people, places, or personal projects, I aim to capture images that feel honest, timeless, and emotionally resonant.

As the French say, “petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid” — little by little, the bird builds its nest.
This website, and this body of work, is part of that nest.
